Imperial Capital has hired Paul Aronzon from law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, to serve as an executive v.p. heading up the firm's restructuring advisory group. He officially joins the firm tomorrow. The hire is part of Imperial's expansion efforts, which includes growth in high-yield sales and trading, and the equity business. Aronzon said he plans to grow the group quickly. It will have offices in New York and Los Angeles, and he hopes to do work internationally as well. He anticipates hiring two managing directors for the New York office and adding a few more on the west coast. Although there is no specific time frame, he hopes to hire as soon as possible.
At Milbank, Tweed he was the co-chair of the financial restructuring group, where he represented domestic and international debtors, financial institutions, and lender syndicates, among others. He has represented clients in restructuring and reorganization cases including: EaglePicher, Trump Casino Holdings, Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines.
