Credit Agricole Hires Two For Loan Investment

Credit Agricole Indosuez has added two members to its new loan team taking shape under Paul Travers, managing director. Charles Kobayashi and Charles Henneman signed on last week to help build up and expand a new investment management presence at the bank after the departure of Dan Smith and some other key loan players to Royal Bank of Canada two months ago.

Kobayashi, who will act as a portfolio manager, joins from ORIX USA, where he was senior vice president of investment management and head of research. He was responsible for managing a $540 million CDO portfolio comprising high-yield bonds. Prior to that he worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at Bank of Tokyo and Bear Stearns. Henneman will act as senior structurer, developing the financial and legal structure of future deals. Previous to this position, he was senior v.p. at Enhance Financial Services Group. Kobayashi and Henneman could not be reached for comment.
