Danske Bank Reorgs London Structured Bonds Group

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Danske Bank's securitization and structured finance team has combined its structured bonds unit with its conduit program Polonius to form a new structured bond team. Ian Feinson, head of structured bonds and the person who will head the new team, says it is a logical move to combine the two teams and to cover the investment grade credit spectrum within one unit.

The structured bond team invests in investment-grade asset-backed securities and whole business securitizations for both the bank's balance sheet and conduit. The team also provides bridge loans to securitizations (BW, 4/28). The Polonius conduit currently has around $1.2 billion invested.

Dankse has also hired an additional member for the structured bonds team. Bansrii Shah, formerly an analyst in Goldman Sachs' private wealth management group, will focus on the conduit and secondary trading. She reports to Feinson. Shah will work with Karen Wilson, who is responsible for surveillance of the entire portfolio. She will also work with Chris Allen to establish a more proactive secondary buying operation.
