Bear Stearns has hired Jon Klein as an investment-grade utilities trader in New York. Klein, who joins from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, reports to Stuart Alper, head of investment-grade trading. Alper did not return calls by press time and Klein declined to comment.
Klein's last day at MLIM in Plainsboro, N.J. was last Tuesday. While there, Klein had reported to John Burger, portfolio manager. He and Terez Hanhan, a spokeswoman for the buy-sider, declined to comment.
