Morgan Stanley Swipes Goldman Analyst

Morgan Stanley has plucked Jason Colodne from his research position on the Goldman Sachs loan desk.

Morgan Stanley has plucked Jason Colodne from his research position on the Goldman Sachs loan desk. Colodne will now join Morgan Stanley as an executive director in the firm's distressed debt research group. He will report to Andrew Brenner, head of distressed debt research at Morgan Stanley. Officials at Morgan Stanley declined comment, but a spokesman confirmed the move. Officials and spokespeople at Goldman did not return calls immediately for comment.

Colodne is following in the footsteps of some other Goldman vets who went to Morgan Stanley. In early 2002, Goldman lost Dan Allen, Michael Weir, Roger Gilbert and Michael Henderlong to Morgan Stanley as the firm ramped up its par loan sales and trading efforts. Last week, Goldman also lost distressed and crossover loan trader Peter Schellbach, who went to fill an open slot at Lehman Brothers.
