BNY Capital Markets is looking to hire new sales pros, analysts and traders for its office in Roseland, N.J. Joe Mannello, director of fixed income, said he is in the process of hiring an additional analyst and a trader for both its high-yield and investment-grade teams. He added that high yield is a product on which the firm continues to focus and is a business that it wants to grow. In the last three weeks alone it has added John Campbell, a v.p. in high-yield sales from Scotia Capital Markets, and John Economos, a v.p. in convertibles and high-yield sales from CIBC World Markets. The group has added six new employees since the beginning of the year, including Paul Baeri, a v.p. in sales who was formerly head of high yield at Cantor Fitzgerald.
BNY recently lost its high yield sales manager, Greg Sullivan, to Raymond James & Associates (see story, page 4). Mannello said Sullivan's position has not yet been filled.
