RBS Greenwich Capital is reportedly leading a $300 million collateralized loan obligation for Rabobank International's CLO unit led by industry veteran E.A. Kratzman. The loan management arm was set up almost two years ago and last year Kratzman told LMW that Credit Suisse First Boston would be leading a $300 million CLO called Chiron CDO I. This deal did not price, according to a source, and the warehouse line with CSFB expired.
Kratzman was a co-founder and head of portfolio management for Institutional Debt Management. At IDM, he was responsible for the execution and portfolio investment strategies, managing the ELC funds as well as APEX and Tryon--seven funds totaling approximately $3.5 billion in assets. Calls and emails to Kratzman were not returned. A CSFB spokesman and Fred Matera, who runs RBS' CDO business, also did not return calls.
