Mayflower Corp.'s bank debt was quoted a touch stronger after reports indicated that Cerberus Capital Management was among a list of bidders interested in buying the company's TransBus International unit. Mayflower has a 70% stake in TransBus. Traders said the paper had been quoted around the 28-29 context but ticked up to the 30 level. No trades could be confirmed. The disclosure of accounting irregularities at TransBus precipitated Mayflower's insolvency. The company appointed Nick Dargan and Nick Edwards of Deloitte & Touche as joint administrators. Calls to Dargan and Cerberus bankers were referred to spokespeople, who did not return calls.
