Merrill Hires S&P Hand For Asian CDO Biz

George Sun, senior director in the collateralized debt obligation group at Standard & Poor's in New York, starts this week as a director at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong.

George Sun, senior director in the collateralized debt obligation group at Standard & Poor's in New York, starts this week as a director at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong. Sun, a five-year veteran of S&P, will work in Merrill's CDO origination efforts for Asia ex-Japan, primarily in a marketing role. He referred questions to Chris Ricciardi, managing director and head of the structured products group at Merrill in New York. Ricciardi confirmed the hire and said Sun will report to Taro Masuyama, head of Asian structured credit products.

At S&P, Sun reported to Richard Gugliada, managing director and head of the CDO group. He was out of the office last week and did not return a call before press time.
