Neil McPherson, managing director and group head of asset-backed and collateralized debt obligation research at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York, left the firm earlier this month and is planning to join ABN AMRO as head of its structured finance syndicate desk.
McPherson will be the latest structured finance veteran to join the Dutch bank, which has been gradually adding personnel in asset-backeds this year. Bill Haley, managing director and head of North American term securitization, joined from a similar role at J.P. Morgan earlier this year. Since then, Brad Dansker, the lead auto banker at J.P. Morgan (BW, 3/29), and Sharon Asch, the lead student loan deal analyst at Moody's Investors Service (BW, 6/28), have also started at ABN AMRO. Haley and McPherson did not return calls before press time.
Rod Dubitsky, director and head of mortgage-related ABS research at CSFB, said he has taken over McPherson's role as head of all ABS research. It could not be determined whether McPherson's role as head of CDO research has been filled. Gail Lee, managing director and global head of structured products research and to whom McPherson reported, did not return a call. McPherson's departure from CSFB was first reported last Tuesday on BW's Web site (www.bondweek.com).
