Andrew Lipton, v.p. and senior credit officer at Moody's Investors Service in New York, plans to leave the rating agency after roughly 20 years. Lipton said he is an original member of Moody's asset-backed team and has worked in nearly all asset-classes, including residential mortgage-backeds, credit card, auto, franchise and student loans.
"I'm retiring from Moody's, I'm not retiring from the industry," said Lipton, who is leaving the rating agency this week. He added he does not have anything else lined up yet and is looking to work in a new capacity but remain in structured finance. He said he would be open to working on all sides, including at a dealer or investor.
At Moody's, Lipton reported to Linda Stesney, managing director and co-head of the ABS group in New York. She did not return a call by press time.
