Financial Guaranty Insurance Co. has hired Jeffrey Kert, v.p. in the fixed-income and commodities division at Goldman Sachs, as director and senior counsel. He started last week in New York and reports to Edward Turi III, general counsel. "Jeffrey will be directly involved in underwriting, structuring, negotiating and completing structured finance transactions," said Brian Moore, spokesman for FGIC.
At Goldman Sachs, Kert managed the team responsible for whole loan acquisitions, and reported to Michelle Gill, v.p. and head of residential mortgage finance. Gill referred calls to Michael DuVally, spokesman, who declined comment on replacement hires for the team.
