Barclays Capital has tapped UBS mortgage researcher Glenn Boyd to head its new mortgage research area. Tom Hamilton, head of Barclay's residential mortgage business, confirmed the move but declined further comment. Boyd starts later this month and will report to Bülent Baygün, head of U.S. fixed-income strategy. Boyd will also be responsible for building up the mortgage research department, according to a Barclays official. Barclays is establishing a research department now to support its relatively new mortgage trading desk (BW, 1/24).
At UBS, Boyd reported to Laurie Goodman, head of mortgage research. Boyd, Goodman and Baygün did not return phone calls by press time.
