ABN AMRO Brasil, the local unit of Dutch banking group ABN AMRO Holding NVO, ranked third among Brazil's private banks in terms of volume of deposits, managing a total of 44.775 billion Brazilian reais ($20.928 billion, 17.552 billion euro) in 2005, according to new data from local data provider Valor Economico.
On a year-on-year basis, the bank's volume of deposits rose by 32% in 2005.
In terms of total assets, ABN AMRO Brasil ranked fourth among Brazilian private banks, with 75.667 billion reais ($35.432 billion, 29.715 billion euro), up 23%, Valor Economico added.
Clients' base rose by 31.5% to 12.1 million clients.
