Turkey denies Eurobond swap rumour

Treasury official says swap could go ahead at a later date

An unnamed treasury official quoted by Anadolu Agency dismissed the article of the local daily Sabah for a planned Eurobond swap by the end of the year. The news reported by the daily implied that Eurobonds maturing in 2007-2010 will be swapped for bonds maturing in 2015-2030. The official said that the treasury has no intention or plan for a Eurobond deal in short run but hints that depending on the international market dynamics the swap option may be taken into consideration.
