Argentina to place US$500 million in bonds on Monday

Strong reception urges new placement

After three pesos plus CER Boden 2014 issues had a massive reception, now Economy is seeking to have the same effect with the dollar Boden 2012 placement.

Argentina's government will place a US$500 M debt in the domestic market on next Monday, an operation not seen since the suspension of payments. If results are good, another US$500 M are expected to be issued later.

According to analysts, the placement would have Boden's 2012 current rate, between 7.5 and 8%; whereas pesos issues had an annual interest of between 5 and 6.5%.

Although a few weeks ago Economy's intention was to issue only pesos adjusted by CER bonds, because "that was what the market was demanding", Roberto Lavagna's team polled investors again and saw that at both local and international levels, there's also interest in acquiring dollar bonds.
