The Polish finance ministry deems that the investment climate is encouraging for a debt issue on the USD market, the ministry announced in a communiqué on Friday. On Apr 14-19, finance minister Miroslaw Gronicki met with investors in the USA on a non-deal roadshow in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York in order to inform investors about Poland's economic situation.
The ministry emphasised that great interest was indicated by investors during the visit. "The meetings allowed the finance ministry's representatives to sound out American investors' reaction to a possible USD-denominated bond issue. The finance ministry assesses that at present the investment climate on this market is favourable for Poland," the communiqué reads.
Recently, the ministry sold bonds in Swiss Francs: 10-year bonds worth CHF 600mn and 5-year bonds worth CHF 400mn. The ministry also sold eurobonds worth EUR 4.5bn in two tranches this year.
