This issue offers a review and outlook of the Latin American banking sector

Fitch Ratings has published the latest installment of the 'Latin America Quarterly' for the first quarter of 2005.Among many topics, this issue offers a review and outlook of the Latin American banking sector. In contrast to 2002-2003, Latin American bank ratings were remarkably stable in 2004, with positive trends overall driven by changes in the political, economic, and banking environments in various countries.

Also in this edition are a feature article on the growth of Brazilian railroads, toll road securitizations in Mexico, and a review of Venezuela's insurance sector.

'Latin America Quarterly' provides discussion and analysis of trends affecting the credit ratings of Latin American corporate, public finance, financial institutions and structured entities. It is available on the Fitch Ratings' web site under Public Finance Sector/Sovereigns at 'www.fitchratings.com'.
