Moody’s upgraded ratings of Moscow city and seven other Russian regions following improved macroeconomic conditions and reduced risk of systemic shocks in Russia.
The list includes St. Petersburg city; regions of Moscow,Samara and Perm; Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Komi republics.
The agency says the uplift reflects so a number of positive trends in the finances of the rated regions. Moscow and St. Petersburg cities also enjoy fiscal benefits from a markedly stronger economic base.
