Hungary relies on HUF 200-250bn in private funding for road construction in 2005. Hungary
envisages that private funding will contribute HUF 200-250bn to road construction projects in 2005,
said economy minister Janos Koka. On the other hand, the budget is expected to allocate HUF 48bn
(EUR 195.9mn) for that purpose, while the European Structural and Cohesion Funds will add another
HUF 21.3bn. Government’s goal is to build 90km of roads next year, mainly based on Public Private
Partnerships (PPP).
