IMF and Turkish officials disagree over banking draft. According to the news in the media the IMF and BRSA (Banking Regulatory and Supervisory Agency) disagree over the new banking draft, especially on the issue of monitoring mechanism. To discuss the issue an IMF mission arrived in Ankara yesterday.
In a related note, Deputy PM Abdullatif Sener said that the draft would be submitted by the banking agency to the ministry in the last week of November. The talks with IMF on the new stand-by programme were suspended, and the government should progress in a number of issues, including this banking draft before the talks resume.
