The Slovakian finance ministry floats SKK 8bn of government bonds. The Finance ministry issued SKK 8bn of government bonds with a ten-year maturity, the NBS informed. The demand for the bonds was surprisingly high at SKK 18bn, given the investor preference for medium-term securities. The annual yield, achieved at the auction, was 5.125% or slightly less than the result from the previous tender of 5.17%. The total volume of the issue was SKK 40bn and the Finance ministry has sold SKK 4.8bn in the first three auctions so far. The issue would not be opened again this year and instead the budget would be financed through five-year bonds. The next auction is due to take place in mid-October.
