Poland ratings unchanged despite political impasse

S&P's says Poland's ratings unaffected by PiS-PO coalition rifts

Stalling of coalition talks between the Law and Justice party (PiS) and the Civic Platform (PO) would not have an immediate impact on the sovereign credit ratings of Poland (foreign currency BBB+/Positive/A-2; local currency A-/Positive/A-2), Standard & Poor's Ratings Services agency said in a communiqué on Thursday. The agency emphasised, however, that it would monitor closely the ongoing efforts to form a new government in Poland , in particular the agenda of any new government. The government coalition between the PiS and the PO fell to pieces on Wednesday, when the PiS rejected PO 's candidate for a parliamentary speaker and chose its own representative, which the PO regarded as breaking an agreement
