The Turkish Treasury has announced that an IMF mission will return to Ankara on October 12 to resume talks concerning a stand-by programme. The IMF mission was in Turkey from September 8 to September 21 and then departed from the country for the World Bank/IMF annual meetings in Washington DC . The first review, for which the mission held talks in June, was left incomplete after the government was unable to implement crucial social security reforms - a precondition for the completion of the review. The first and second reviews may be merged.
