AXA Investment Managers in Paris plans to almost double the number of professionals working in its structured finance division by the end of 2005, according to an official at the firm. The team, headed by Pierre-Emmanuel Juillard, numbers 37 professionals and plans to add six professionals in asset-backeds and another two in structured finance engineering in the near term. Others will be added to the collateralized debt obligation and European leveraged loan teams in the future.

The hires will be made to meet the growth in assets under management and the expansion of AXA's product offering, said the official.

Gaelle Philippe was recently promoted to head of the asset-backed securities team. She reports to Juillard. They could not be reached before press time.
