Alexander MacKay, head of asset-backed research at Commerzbank in London, has resigned. His departure leaves Claudia Vortmüller as the sole securitization researcher at the bank. It could not be determined where MacKay is headed.
Mackay's departure follows those of Tyron Eng and Katie Hostalier from the team in April, with Eng joining in a buy-side role at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in London and Hostalier taking a desk analyst position on the ABS trading team at Commerz. MacKay did not return calls to his office or cell phone by press time.
MacKay reported to Chavan Bhogaita, head of credit research. Bhogaita said Commerzbank is reevaluating how it wants to position itself in securitization research and he expects to make some new hires after the summer.
