First MBS Investor Class Certified

U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff of the Southern District of New York has certified a class of investors of $16.5 billion in mortgage-backed securities issued by Merrill Lynch, marking the first such certification of a group of MBS purchasers looking to recover losses from the investments.
