Danish Bank Writedowns May Top 2011
New regulations will likely lead Danish banks to post larger writedowns this year than they did in 2011. Standard & Poor’s estimates that Danish banks collectively wrote down 155 billion kroner ($27 billion) between 2008 and 2011, and are expected to write down an addition 30 billion ($5.25 billion) kroner.
