SEC Cites Compliance Concerns At Credit Raters
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has uncovered compliance issues at credit rating agencies. In its annual report of the firms, which are not mentioned by name, the SEC found, for example, that one agency delayed downgrading several structured finance deals to give the issuers time to restructure the transactions to avoid the move.
