Basel Proposal Could Hurt Denmark

A proposal by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision that limits single counterparty exposures to 25% of a lender’s Tier 1 capital is not feasible for Denmark, which is dominated by four mortgage banks, according to the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and industry groups.
