Fieldstone Capital Group, a New York broker of collateralized debt obligations and high-yield bonds, has hired Johnny Srivastava as a v.p. in CDO research. Srivastava, who says he started last week, had previously worked on originating fixed-income transactions at RBC Capital Markets, where he was laid off recently. He had also previously worked at Fuji Bank, where he invested in asset-backed securities for the bank's balance sheet. The role is a new one and will support Fieldstone's efforts in the secondary CDO market, where it seeks to connect investors in all types of CDOs across the capital structure. He reports to Carol Bunevich, managing director, who says Fieldstone plans to add additional salesmen. She adds Fieldstone, which was formed about a year ago, sees opportunity in the secondary markets, particularly when the primary market is active and occupies the attention of Wall Street dealers. She declines to reveal just how active Fieldstone is.
