Refi Questions Linger As Maturities Approach

Companies with maturities coming due in 2009--more than 50 have loans, including Smurfit-Stone Container Co., and more than 70 have bonds, such as Ford Motor Credit Co. and American Airlines--are looking to banks less willing to lend and are left wondering whether they will be able to refinance.
