Aussie, Kiwi Structured Finance Bond Upgrades Trump Downgrades

The number of upgrades on Australian and New Zealand structured finance bonds outnumbered those downgrades more than 3 to 1 last year, according to Fitch Ratings.

Rising interest rates have resulted in an increase in the number of Australian borrowers falling behind in their mortgage payments, according to Standard & Poor’s. S&P reported that loans in arrears advanced 0.19% in April to 1.44%, and the rate for subprime borrowers ended the month at 12.24%. ...
