American Express Financial Advisors has hired Cathy Siebert as a senior investment-grade analyst, reporting to Peg Sibbet, head of high-grade research. Siebert replaces another analyst who moved to the firm's structured asset team, according to Paul Johnson, a spokesman for the Minneapolis-based firm. At American Express, she will cover autos, retail, supermarkets and food and beverages. She joins from Strong Capital Management in Milwaukee, where she covered a variety of sectors, including rails. A call to Tom Price, portfolio manager at Strong, was not returned.
American Express is also looking for a senior mortgage-backed securities analyst, Johnson says. The position is a newly created one, says Johnson, adding "it's an important sector, so we're adding to our overall bench strength." He declined to elaborate further on the reason for the planned hire.
