* Just in time for primary season...Competition is said to be heating up for places on The Loan Syndications & Trading Association 2004 board of directors. Thirteen full members are running for eight available seats. A nominating committee has been set up to recommend a slate of Board of Directors to the membership. But any candidate who is not recommended by the nominating committee may choose to run against the recommended slate at the annual membership meeting scheduled for January 22.
Jim Baldino of Bank One, Steve Hickey of Goldman Sachs and Naseem Haffar of J.P. Morgan are among the board members deciding the slate. Representing the buyside are Eaton Vance Corp.'s Payson Swaffield, CIC's Sean Mounier and Dan Norman of ING Investment Management. Neil Brisson, a trader at Bank of New York, rounds out the selection committee.
