Bank of America is planning to start a European securitization research effort and is looking to hire an analyst, according to industry officials familiar with the bank's plans. The new hire will be based in London and the broader research effort will support the group's overall growth, they say. Kumar Aiyer heads the bank's U.S. securitization research team, based in New York, and it is unclear whether the European effort will be part of the U.S. team or operate on its own. Steve Gandy, global head of asset securitization in London, did not return calls.
