Credit Suisse First Boston has come out with a new biweekly report on the collateralized debt obligation market. The report, The CDO Strategist, will offer relative value ideas and discuss market technicals. This information was previously provided in a weekly publication but CSFB has now separated out the CDO bit into its own biweekly report. The first edition of the new title was released last week.
In the inaugural piece, CSFB researchers David Yan and Stephen Chow discuss the growth of the secondary market. They predict secondary volumes may hit $30 billion this year, more than double from two years ago. Ironically, this primer on the secondary market comes just as Kristofer Kraus, co-head of CDO trading, recently left CSFB along with a handful of other CDO professionals to join Barclays Capital.
