Citigroup AM Lures Another From Credit Suisse AM

Citigroup Asset Management in London is continuing to hire professionals from Credit Suisse Asset Management and has nabbed emerging market and high-yield credit veteran Jana Benesova-Tuma. The director of global fixed income at CSAM will start at Citigroup in the new role of product head for European fixed income in late July. Last week was her last at CSAM. She will report to former CSAM colleague Winifred Robbins, who joined Citigroup late last year as senior investment officer for fixed income in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Another recent Citi hire from CSAM is Ahmed Talhaoui, who joined in January as head of fixed income quantitative portfolio management and convertible bond management. He also reports to Robbins, who said, "Jana's joining will boost our European fixed income product skill set." She added: "Citigroup is a truly global franchise and offers an enormous investment opportunity."

At CSAM, Benesova-Tuma was responsible for total return, global emerging market and high-yield investments. She was with the buy-sider for 11 years and reported to Dennis Schaney, global head of fixed income in New York. Schaney did not return calls by press time. Ian Chimes, spokesman in London, said CSAM has a deep bench and John de Garis and Dilip Rasgotra, both managing directors, have taken over the day-to-day running of the target return product, which was Benesova-Tuma's main focus.
