Merrill Lynch in London has hired Lindsey McMurray, managing director responsible for the hedge fund business at Fortress Investments in London, to head up whole business securitization. She reports to Stephen Green, managing director and head of real estate finance. McMurray said her role is a new one, as Merrill is looking to develop its corporate securitization business. On the whole business side, Merrill has been involved on securitizations for U.K. pub operator Spirit Group and provided the bridge loan on U.K. leisure company Tussauds Group's whole business deal.
McMurray joined Fortress just over a year ago and reported to co-ceo Peter Briger. Briger did not return calls by press time. Prior to Fortress, McMurray headed the commercial mortgage-backed and whole business securitization team at Royal Bank of Scotland in London.
