UBS is expanding its securitized products research group with the addition of Greg Reiter as a mortgage strategist. Reiter will report to Laurie Goodman, co-head of global fixed-income research, and Jeff Ho, head of mortgage strategy. Goodman said UBS is bulking up its research group now as the bank's business in securitized products has grown over the past few years but declined to provide specifics.
Reiter was previously a director in Freddie Mac's mortgage funding area and reported to Phil Guth, v.p. of single-class issuance, according to Michael Cosgrove, Freddie Mac spokesman.
UBS is also looking to add an asset-backed securities analyst to cover autos, credit cards, aircraft and student loans, Goodman said.
