Raphael Gonzalez, managing director and head of asset-backed trading at BNP Paribas in New York, has left the firm and is headed to Banc of America Securities as a senior ABS trader. The move caps a short stint for Gonzalez, who was named head of ABS trading at the bank in May after joining from Barclays Capital, where he was a director and senior ABS trader. Prior to Barclays, Gonzalez spent three years as head of ABS and mortgage trading at J.P. Morgan Investment Management. He is slated to join BofA in a month.
Gonzalez, reached on his cell phone, declined comment. Edwina Frawley, spokeswoman for BNP Paribas, confirmed Gonzalez's departure but declined further comment. Louise Hennessy, spokeswoman for BofA, was unable to provide additional information by press time.
