Fitch has vote of confidence for mortgages

The outlooks for European residential mortgage markets have either improved or stayed the same compared with a year ago, said Fitch in a report this week. But the ratings agency also warned that the housing recovery in Europe’s periphery is “fragile and uneven”.

Economic growth, low interest rates, and improved affordability are among the supporting factors for mortgage and housing markets in some eurozone peripheral markets, Fitch said in its Global Housing and Mortgage Outlook, published on Wednesday.
