Placed European ABS volumes dip to 2011 levels

Data from the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (Afme) shows placed securitization volumes in Europe at the lowest level since 2011, when the market was still recovering from the global financial crisis.

Afme said just €14bn had been placed in the second quarter, even lower than the €16.5bn placed in the first quarter of 2019, when uncertainties over a revamped regulatory regime slowed the start of the market.
