Goldman Sachs has named Tom Cornacchia and Stacy Bash-Polley as co-heads of the New York rates desk. They will be responsible for promoting sales of all mortgage-backed securities and interest rate products and take over some of the responsibilities of Harvey Schwartz, a managing director in fixed income sales. Ed Canaday, spokesman, confirmed the changes but was unable to provide further information. Cornacchia was awarded BondWeek’s sales pro of the year for mortgage- and asset-backeds last year. He and Schwartz did not return calls and Bash-Polley was away on maternity leave after giving birth to a boy last week.
