ECM giants lose ground as market changes

With one quarter of 2016 left to go and global issuance 22% down, the equity capital markets bookrunner race is going into its final straight. Familiar faces are leading the pack, but incumbents in general are having a tough year.

Using Dealogic’s figures, in dollar terms, this year’s big change at the front is JP Morgan cruising back into the top slot, overtaking Goldman Sachs.

JP Morgan, 1.3 percentage points of market share ahead, will be hard to catch. But Goldman is only 0.5 points ahead ...
