Bonds’ mixed performance makes investors cautious

Robust G3 issuance in Asia ex-Japan in September delivered the second highest monthly deal volume on record. But the market has witnessed a power shift, with investors now calling the shots, writes Addison Gong.

Asia’s debt capital market has experienced a busy few months. In the third quarter, G3 bond issuance reached $62.9bn from 48 deals, compared with a modest 16 transactions amounting to $29.4bn during the same period in 2015, according to Dealogic.
