Banking veteran Tai to boost HSBC board

HSBC has named Jackson Tai, the former Asia Pacific chairman of JP Morgan and chief executive officer of DBS, as an independent non-executive director of its board.

The appointment took effect from September 12, according to a regulatory filing from HSBC. Tai will also be a member of the group risk and financial system vulnerabilities committees.
