Lively start for Myanmar exchange after long awaited trading debut

First Myanmar Investment became the first firm to debut on the Yangon Stock Exchange last Friday — three months after the bourse was officially launched. The stock opened with a bang, jumping about 19% on the first trading day.

FMI made its debut on the YSX with 23.5m shares listed at a base price of Mk26,000 ($21.5) each, which climbed Mk5,000 on the first day to hit its daily price ceiling.
