Moody’s downgrades StanChart after four-month review

Moody’s has cut Standard Chartered’s credit rating by one notch to A1 from Aa3 following a four-month review, basing its decision on a deterioration in asset quality and profitability at the lender.

It downgraded Standard Chartered's senior unsecured debt rating to A1, and Standard Chartered Bank's (SCB) long-term deposits and senior unsecured debt ratings by a notch to Aa3 from Aa2, it said on Monday.
