Miserable January draws to a close, but does Febuary hold hope?

The corporate bond market has reached the end of one of the direst Januaries in living memory and even as the pipeline for the first quarter builds, uncertainty still reigns.

For a second week in a row, investment grade corporate issuers have sat out of primary bond markets.

Granted, many corporates’ earnings blackouts fell in this week but even by the standards of a traditionally quiet month, January has been abysmal.
